Terms & refunds

The agreement between you and Tend, in as plain language as we can manage.

Last updated 11 October 2026

Who you're agreeing with

These terms are an agreement between you and Mohamed Elsawy, the independent developer of Tend, based in the United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). When Tend's company is registered, it will take our place in these terms and we'll update this page. By downloading or using Tend, or creating a Tend account, you agree to these terms.

Using Tend

We give you a personal, non-exclusive license to use Tend on Macs you own or control. Tend's free features are free to use on any number of Macs. The features marked Free on our pricing page stay free.

Tend Pro features need an active subscription or a Lifetime license, which covers up to 3 Macs that you use. Please don't share a license beyond that, resell it, or try to get around licensing; we may deactivate licenses that are abused.

The public beta

During the public beta, Pro features are free for everyone, with no payment details needed. Beta software can have bugs, so keep backups of anything important. We'll give notice in the app and on this site before the beta ends; it never turns into a paid plan without you choosing one.

Accounts

Accounts are optional and are for one person. You sign in with an email code, Apple or Google, so keep access to that email or account secure. You can delete your account at any time on your account page; deleting it doesn't cancel a subscription, so cancel that first. We may suspend accounts used for fraud or abuse.

Clean Up and changes to your Mac

Clean Up moves the items you select to the Trash; it doesn't delete them. Review what's selected before you confirm, and empty the Trash only when you're sure. Switching off startup items is reversible. Updates you install through Tend come from Apple, the App Store or Homebrew under their own terms. You're responsible for the files you choose to remove and the changes you choose to make.

Buying Tend Pro

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for all our orders. Paddle handles payment, tax, invoices and refunds, and you can look up an order with Paddle at paddle.net. For help with an order or a refund, email us at support@tendmac.app or reply to your Paddle receipt, and we'll sort it out with Paddle. Your purchase is also covered by Paddle's buyer terms.

  • Plans: Monthly ($4.99 a month), Yearly ($19.99 a year) and Lifetime ($39.99 once). All include the same Pro features.
  • Prices are in US dollars. Depending on where you live, Paddle adds VAT or sales tax at checkout and shows the total before you pay. Paddle may also show the price in your local currency.
  • Price changes never affect a period you've already paid for. If we raise a subscription's price, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies, so you can cancel first. Founding prices stay as described below.

Subscriptions and the yearly trial

  • Renewal: Monthly and Yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • Free trial: Yearly starts with a 7-day free trial. Paddle asks for a payment method when you start it. If you cancel before the trial ends, you aren't charged. If you don't, the yearly price is charged when the trial ends, and then once a year until you cancel.
  • Canceling: cancel any time from Manage billing, on your account page or in Tend › Settings. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
  • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, Paddle retries it for up to about two weeks, and Pro keeps working while it does. If it still fails, the subscription ends.

Lifetime

Lifetime is a one-time purchase of Tend Pro, on up to 3 Macs, for as long as Tend is available, including future updates. It isn't a subscription and never renews.

The founding price

  • Who gets it: people who join the founding list and confirm their email address before Tend's paid launch.
  • What it is: 40% off. On Monthly and Yearly, the discount applies to every renewal for as long as that subscription stays active; if you cancel and later subscribe again, the regular price applies. On Lifetime, it's 40% off the one-time price.
  • How to use it: at launch we email your founding offer to the address you signed up with. It's valid for purchases made within 30 days of that email, using the same email address at checkout. It can't be combined with other discounts.

Moving Pro between Macs

You can move Pro to a different Mac at any time, within limits that stop one license being shared widely: a license linked to an account can free a Mac's place up to 10 times in 30 days (removing Macs on your account page and Deactivate this Mac count together); a license key on its own, 3 times in 30 days. If you need more for a good reason, email us. How to move Pro to a new Mac.

Refunds

  • 14 days, any charge: if Tend Pro isn't right for you, ask for a full refund within 14 days of a charge. That includes your first purchase, the first charge after a trial, and each renewal.
  • How: email support@tendmac.app from the address you bought with, or reply to your Paddle receipt.
  • When the money arrives: Paddle returns it to your original payment method. Card refunds usually arrive within a few working days, and PayPal refunds sooner, but your bank decides the exact timing and it can take up to about 10 working days.
  • What happens to the license: a refunded license stops working. Because Tend checks licenses in the background and can work offline, Pro may continue for a while on a Mac, at most about five weeks.

These refund terms come on top of any rights you have under the consumer law where you live, and don't reduce them.

Updates and changes to Tend

Tend updates itself automatically. We'll keep improving it, which can mean changing features over time.

No warranty

Tend is provided as is. We work hard to make it accurate and safe, but we can't guarantee it's free of errors, and readings such as per-app power are estimates. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from its use, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Ending this agreement

You can stop using Tend and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, for example by sharing or reselling licenses, or after a chargeback.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date above. For significant changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
