Quick answers

Which Macs does Tend support?

Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 15 Sequoia or later. Battery features need a MacBook; everything else works on desktop Macs too. Intel Macs aren't supported.

Can Tend stop my Mac charging at 80%?

Tend doesn't control the charger itself. On macOS 26.4 or later, macOS has its own Charge Limit, and Tend takes you straight to it. On earlier versions, Tend Pro can remind you to unplug. More about charge limits.

Does Tend upload my usage data?

No. Battery readings, energy use, temperatures and disk scans are measured and stored on your Mac. What Tend does send.

Will Tend slow my Mac down?

It's built not to. When its window is hidden, Tend takes a reading every 10 seconds instead of every 2, and less often in Low Power Mode. On our M2 Max MacBook Pro that's well under 1% CPU in the background.

Is Pro free right now?

Yes. During the public beta every Pro feature is unlocked for everyone. See pricing for what happens at launch.

How do I quit Tend?

Click Tend's icon in the menu bar, then Quit. Closing the window keeps Tend running in the menu bar.
